Top 5 Social Networking Apps on iOS in Latin America: Q4 2022

The fourth quarter of 2022 saw dynamic shifts in the performance of the top social networking apps on iOS in Latin America. Here’s a closer look at how the top five apps fared in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users.

WhatsApp Messenger from WhatsApp Inc. maintained a steady presence with weekly revenue fluctuating around $120-$140. Weekly downloads exhibited a notable peak, reaching approximately 569K in mid-November, while weekly active users remained stable around 23.3M to 23.5M throughout the quarter.

Facebook by Meta Platforms, Inc. demonstrated consistent performance with weekly revenue generally ranging between $29K and $38K. The app’s weekly downloads peaked at about 352K in late December. Weekly active users showed an upward trend, rising from roughly 58.9M to 60.9M by the end of the quarter.

Telegram Messenger from Telegram FZ-LLC saw weekly revenue increase steadily, peaking at around $7.2K in the final week of December. Weekly downloads reached a high of approximately 282K in late October. However, weekly active users experienced a slight decline from about 4M to 3.9M over the quarter.

Messenger, also by Meta Platforms, Inc., maintained stable weekly download numbers, with a peak of approximately 232K in the last week of December. Weekly active users showed little fluctuation, stabilizing around 15.5M to 15.7M.

BeReal: Photos & Friends Daily, released by BeReal, saw a significant decline in weekly downloads, from about 348K at the start of the quarter to roughly 67K by the end. Despite this, weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 900K.
